A Break From School with Game Night 2022

Uno, Smash Bros, Mario Kart, cup pong – you name it, Game Night's got it!

With exciting games, activities, and snacks galore, students across high school levels were finally able to take a break from their school work and hang out with friends during Game Night’s grand post-pandemic return last October 17, 2022 in the school auditorium.

After a quarter in the unfamiliar face-to-face learning set-up, the MGC New Life Christian Academy (MGCNLCA) Student Government (SG) arranged Game Night, themed, “Under the Stars,” to allow students to “chill and play with [your] friends,” as remarked by Game Night committee head and SG Auditor Elijah Samuel G. Tongco.

Under SG supervision, attendees were able to freely play a wide selection of board games and Nintendo Switch video games, avail free Wi-Fi, enjoy music, and munch on snacks for an entrance fee of 50 pesos. Attendees were also free to battle in two mini-competitions for the title of “Winners of the Night.” Kyle Aidan C. Chua and Hans Dominic H. Gamboa, both from Grade 11, Olive, STEM, bagged the title in the Connect Four match and Rubik’s Cube solving race, respectively.

The event was a smashing success, with several attendees expressing their satisfaction and regrets that it will only be held once this year.

Gamboa shared, “This is my first time to ever join a Game Night. So, naturally, I had no idea what to expect. In fact, the only reason I decided to go to this one is because I heard someone say that there was a Rubik’s Cube-solving contest. However, looking back, it’s safe to say that my 2022 Game Night experience surpassed anything I could’ve expected. From the moment I walked into the auditorium, the lights, the music, the decorations, and just the overall atmosphere immediately got me hooked.”
