Exhibition Game: Zion vs. Nazareth Girls Basketball

Zion charged for the win against Nazareth with a score of 48-26 last November 12's Inter-division Girls Basketball Exhibition Games for second place in Girls Basketball.

Zion’s Beniya Catienza scored 10 points, eight of which were earned in the final quarter, allowing Zion to keep their strong lead.

“It was a very fun exhibition match because it was our first time playing Nazareth,” said Zion’s Erin Co. “I felt like it was going to be a fun game playing with the siobes.”

Jamina See added eight points for Zion while Sharika Bayot scored six.

The gap between the scores widened throughout the quarters, but the Nazareth girls remained determined to give their best.

Annika Tan led Nazareth with eight points while Alianna Zhang and Lucy Wang contributed six points each.

“I thought we could’ve done worse, so I’m pretty proud of the outcome and the experience of playing with higher batches,” Tan shared.

Nazareth had a chance at the start of the second quarter to close a 2-point gap but struggled.

Ms. Calilong from Nazareth joined the game in the latter half of the fourth quarter, scoring two points.

However, Zion’s years of experience on the court coupled with their height advantage sealed a clear victory against Nazareth.

It was a thrilling exhibition match for both batches with the youngest players having the memorable experience of competing with their seniors.
