Juniors and seniors lit up the New World Makati Hotel last April 28, for their JS Promenade with the theme, “Luminesce.”
Looking dashing and dapper in all their finery as hosts, Annika Chong of Patmos C and Daniel Lim of Olive-STEM welcomed the Grades 10 and 11 students as they walked in with their dates and escorts during the processional.
Guest speakers and MGCNLCA alumni Ms. Janelle Ang, Mr. Lanz Patrick Hao Lin, Ms. Kim Denyse Hao Lin, and Ms. Kate Abigail Hao Lin then shared their life experiences and discussed how a lot of things might change with every new season.
Afterward, Student Government (SG) adviser Mr. Gershwin Choa-shi led the turnover ceremony of the keys of responsibility between the outgoing SG President, Gianna Asuncion, and the incoming SG president, Janelle Lim. It was then followed by a candle-lighting ceremony between the Juniors and the Seniors.
The awards were the highlight of the night. Olive’s Raine Alexis Kho was chosen as Ms. Alma Mater. Mr. and Ms. Senior were awarded to Hans Dominic Gamboa and Jeslyn Kaydee Gonzaga of Class Olive, while Aidan Riley Kho and Janelle Dominique Lim of Class Patmos were chosen as Mr. and Ms. Junior. Timothy Lance Tan of Olive and Annika Justine Lim of Patmos were awarded Mr. and Ms. Etiquette. Capping off the night were Johann Emmanuel Bocobo and Maegan Lorraine Sih of Patmos as King and Queen of the Night.
The much-awaited cotillion waltz of selected Grade 10 and 11 students took everyone’s breath away, while Patmos and Olive’s band Mooncheese gave special performances during the prom. After dinner, the students prepared some games such as “Finish the Lyrics'' and “Bato Bato Pik.” Raffle prizes were also given to the lucky winners.
After the prom proper, students stayed on for the after party at the same venue as they continued to spend the night with their friends.
