MGCNLCA’s very own Table Tennis Varsity aced one the Angeles City Table Anniversary Invitational Tournament Ray Reg Academy for the Youth, bagging home three separate wins last November 12.
Attaining the grand titles of Champion and 1st Runner up in the High School Boys Singles Open were players Caden Ching of Patmos and Lance Ngo of Berea, respectively. The two MGCNLCA varsity members had to compete against each other in the tournament’s finals, with Ching eventually winning 1st place.
Also prevailing in the Invitational Tournament is Reese Hang, a 6th-grade student, winning 1st runner-up in the Girls Singles Open (Elementary).
When asked for the highlight of his experience in the competition, Ching replied: “That would be my semifinals game, since the opponent was one of the better ones I've fought, making the game more fun and overall more challenging for me.”
Table Tennis Coach Ting Ledesma ensured that his team trained well for the tournament by helping the varsity achieve their full potential. He did this by constantly sharpening the team’s skills and making sure that any errors committed would not be repeated.
Our Table Tennis Varsity’s efforts have undoubtedly paid off, as shown in their victorious results. May they win more tournaments to come, and to God be all the glory!
