The MGCNL Swim Team crashed the board, hauling 57 medals in total for the elementary and secondary divisions during the Taguig-Pateros Division Meet last March 12, 2023 at the Philippine Army Gym.
Alec Yu bagged gold in the 50m butterfly, 400m freestyle, and 50m freestyle, and silver in the 200m freestyle and 100m butterfly.
Yu commented, “I felt very stressed in the way that I was the one expected to be qualifying for the kids and everyone was cheering me on to not let them down.”
David Yu won gold in the 100m breaststroke, silver in the 100m freestyle, and bronze in the 200m freestyle. Along with David, Antonio Dela Cruz earned silver in the 50m breaststroke and bronze in the 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle.
Isaac Yu achieved gold in the 50m breaststroke, along with silvers in the 100m and 50m backstroke, 200 IM. Baron Ong gained a bronze in the 100m freestyle, and silver in the 50m freestyle and 100m breaststroke.
Brielle Ong dominated the girls division, grabbing gold in the 50m breaststroke and freestyle, silver in the 50m butterfly and 100m freestyle, and bronze in the 50m backstroke.
Nishelle Dela Cruz also earned gold in the 50m and 100m backstroke and silver in the 50m freestyle.
Klee Que from batch Zion garnered three gold medals in the 4x50m freestyle relay, 1500m, and 100m freestyle. Que also added two silver medals in the 50m and 100m breaststroke and a bronze in the 50m freestyle alongside his other wins.
Raine Kho of Olive increased the medal collection, getting gold in the 200m breaststroke, silver in the 50m breaststroke, and bronze in the 100m breaststroke.
From batch Patmos, Aidan Kho garnered silvers in the 400m freestyle, 200m IM, and 200m back. Meanwhile, Dominic Wong won bronze in the 100m and 200m backstroke events. Wong also won gold in the 4x50m freestyle relay and silver in the 4x50m Medley Relay.
Jamie Ang’s performance contained three gold medal finishes in the 400m freestyle, 100m backstroke, and 200m freestyle. Ang then snatched silver in the 200m IM to round it out.
Damascus students Gabriel Gaw and Adrian Wong prevailed, with Gaw obtaining five gold medals in the 50m butterfly, 50m breaststroke, 100m butterfly, 50m freestyle, and the 4x50m freestyle relay. He also came in a close third in the 100m breastroke.
Adrian Wong’s outstanding performance included a bronze medal in the 200m breaststroke and a silver medal in the 4x50m medley relay. Aaron Kho (Grade 8) contributed a silver medal in the 4x50m medley relay.
Brielle Pua (Grade 7) finished with a gold medal in the 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle, silver medal in the 50m butterfly and 100m freestyle, and bronze in the 50m backstroke.
