The MGCNL Table Tennis team returns to the 2023 NCR Palaro, garnering six medals at the Taguig-Pateros Division meet last March 11 to 12.
A sweep from the high school girls and boys division, Rhian Hang (Grade 8) garnered first place, with Caden Ching (Grade 10) and Lance Ngo (Grade 8) obtaining first and second runner-up respectively.
In the elementary girls division, Reese Hang (Grade 6) is crowned the champion along with Samantha Young (Grade 6) as first runner-up and Moira Cordova (Grade 3) as second runner-up.
When asked about MGCNL’s prospects in the NCR meet, Ngo of batch Berea shared, “I believe we have a fair chance to succeed. Factoring in our excellent facilities, training, and coaches, all we need is the perseverance to try our hardest no matter how strong our opponents may be.”
Ngo also added that the previous experiences of multiple players’ in the NCR Meet will largely contribute to their division meet performance, and also expressed the hope of the team to qualify for the national championships, Palarong Pambansa.
