New Lifers Make History at the 4th XMUN

New Lifers start 2023 with a new record of six recognitions in a single Model United Nations (MUN) Conference during the 4th Xavier Model United Nations (XMUN) last February 3 to 5, 2023.


Receiving the Best Delegate of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) was Patmos B student, Juliana Simone Sy, who represented Lithuania.


Alongside Julianna Sy, Charlize Chua of Olive-ABM took home an Honorable Mention Award while Annika Joan Lee of Olive-STEM and Bianca Iyesha Sy of Damascus B received Verbal Commendations in UNICEF.


Jana Chloe Dy of Patmos C received the Best Position Paper Award as the delegate of New Zealand to the World Health Organization (WHO), while Alexa Rae Tan of Patmos C gained the Best Article Award for her article, "The Death of the Press: Censorship, and Why It Must Never Be Allowed" as a correspondent for the New York Times.


New Lifers also joined the conference as Dais members and Press Editors. Seniors Steffi Nadine Chu and Erin Kimberly Co were Vice Chairs of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and UNICEF, with Amanda Dana Chiong and Justine Faith Gaw of Batch Patmos made their chairing debut as Rapporteurs of WHO and the European Council respectively.


Joining the 4th XMUN as Press Editors are Lifenews Associate Editor Raine Alexis Kho and Lifenews Science writer Adrian Justin Ching as editors for Fox News and Xinhua News Agency, respectively.
