One Big Fight to Enter Ateneo: ACET Returns For S.Y. 2023 - 2024!

After its suspension for two academic years, the Ateneo College Entrance Test (ACET) returns in full swing starting this October 29, 2022, as part of the application process of the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) for School Year 2023-2024.

With ADMU opening their college applications last August 1, it was announced that the ACET would come back as a refreshed version of the examination designed to better assess applicants.

Once the application deadline for first-year college admission and scholarship is over, the ACET will be held from October 29 to 30, 2022, for applicants in the National Capital Region (NCR); those outside NCR will take the assessment from November 5 to 6, 2022.

Aside from the ACET, ADMU will also take into consideration an applicant’s past academic performance from Grades 9 to 11, a personal essay, teacher’s recommendation, and school records. The results will be released by April 2023.

In line with this, guidance and testing center head Mrs. Daphne Uang announced that the grade 12 students will be having a university application orientation for the application process—asking students to refrain from requesting recommendation letters for the time being.

Following Ateneo’s announcement to restore the ACET, the University of Santo Tomas (UST) is also considering bringing back the University of Santo Tomas Entrance Tests (USTET) for School Year 2023-2024.
