Renewal and Rekindling with Parents

After four years, Grades 7 to 9 students of MGC New Life Christian Academy (MGCNLCA) finally experienced their first in-person Renewal and Rekindling Session (RnR) with their parents at the school auditorium in February and March.

Last held in 2019, the Guidance and Testing Center holds the RnR annually to renew and rekindle, as well as help maintain, a stable relationship between parents and their children through games, activities, and messages from experienced speakers.

Grade 7 students had their RnR with their Moms on February 21, 2023, Grade 8 had theirs with Dads on February 15, 2023, while Grade 9 had their RnR with Moms on March 1, 2023.

Guidance and Testing Center head Mrs. Daphne Uang and Pastor Don Cua, both parents of MGCNLCA alumni, gave a message to the students and parents of Grades 7 and 8 respectively, about the importance of having a good and stable relationship with each other.

Afterwards, the Nazareth students had a Mother-Child Encounter activity, while the Bereans played games with the fathers during their RnR.

The Grade 9 batch meanwhile, had Mrs. Cherry Chua and her daughter Hazel, a former Newlifer, share about how they maintained a healthy mother-daughter relationship, as well as gave advice on how to nurture such relationships. MGCNLCA alumnus and now SHS teacher Ms. Shaina Chua then hosted a handbook activity for moms and their children.
