Robredo-Pangilinan Tandem Sweeps MGCNLCA’s Mock Elections

With less than two weeks left until the national elections on May 9th, the tandem of Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan scored a landslide victory in the mock elections held by the MGCNLCA Student Government for Grades 6 - 12 students last Friday, April 22.


Out of the 376 New Lifers who participated, 64.1% voted for Robredo as president, while 41.5% voted for Pangilinan as vice president.


Survey leader and former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. came in second with 14.9% of the votes. Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson was third at 8.2%, with Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno-Domagoso coming in fourth with 5.3%. Labor activist Leodegario “Ka Leody” De Guzman along with Senator Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao tied for fifth and sixth, with 2.4% each. From seventh to tenth were Former Presidential Spokesperson Ernie Abella (1.9%), Former Secretary of National Defense Norberto Gonzales (0.5%), Faisal Mangondato (0.3%), and, lastly, Jose Jr. Montemayor (0%).


In the Vice Presidential race, Marcos’ running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio came in second with 19.4% of the votes. Senate President Vicente “Tito” III Sotto came in third with 17.8%, Dr. Willie Ong with 10.9%, Manny Lopez with 3.7%, and Lito Atienza with 3.2%. Walden Bello and Rizalito David tied with 1.3% and 0.8% voted for Carlos Serapio.
