For the second straight year, MGC New Life Christian Academy’s (MGCNLCA) much-awaited Lifeweek was held online from October 18 to 22, with the theme "Reimagined." Sponsored by the Student Government (SG), the week-long event had MGCNLCA students and teachers dressing up and showing their creativity by recreating different looks based on a given theme of the day, along with activities like an art competition, fun games, and bucket lists.
Lifeweek was kicked off last Oct. 18 with a Row Game between students and teachers, where the students narrowly beat the teachers to claim victory. The theme on that first day was MGCNL Monday, so everyone was encouraged to wear the school colors and show off the school spirit. Together Tuesday had the students, alongside their teachers and friends, come up with matching virtual backgrounds. Retro Wednesday brought back vintage looks from the 60s to the early 2000s. Disney Thursday was an opportunity for everyone to dress up as favorite Disney characters or show off prized Disney merchandise. The week ended with Hollywood Friday, where students and teachers dressed up as beloved movie characters and famed actors and actresses.
Winners of the various competitions were announced by the SG in an awarding ceremony the following Monday. Damascus student Rhailey Tan emerged victorious in the Set Game and won a mechanical keyboard in the process. Timothy Tan of Grade 10 and Grade 12 students Joshua Lu and Dylan Jao won the art competition in the high school division, while Kelsie Lim of Bethany B and Caitlyn Yu of Galilee B won for elementary. Damascus students Jana Dy, Bianca So, and Tyler Jao completed the Bucket List first and won Php 2,500. Winners for the best-dressed contest won Php 250 each, namely Zion’s Uel Cawaon and Ms. Darlyn Dela Soledad for Retro Wednesday, Zion’s Francine Ty and Mr. Mark Noel Graida for Disney Thursday, and Berean Miles Co and Mrs. Richelle Kho for Hollywood Friday.
